I am on board for anything frugal. I extremely dislike using paper towels.
It's a waste.
When I came across A Blossoming Life on Etsy, I really liked the idea of her reusable dishcloths.
Not only are they very cute, but it makes sense. It saves money, and you don't waste paper towels.
What makes this different than a regular kitchen towel?
Well, these are very well made with fabric and terry cloth or minky fabric.
They are very durable. They do great dusting, wiping up small messes, to washing dishes
and pots and pans. Throw them into the washer and they come out good as new.
These are like regular dish towels on steroids.
Oh, and did I mention they are cute?

ReplyDeleteI also cut up old shirts to use as rags. I collect my fabric scraps and use them as stuffing for the rag dolls I make. I reuse plastic grocery bags as trash bin liners.

I use coupons, use washcloths instead of paper towels, re-use containers, stretch out meals w/ meat by using beans or rice, make homemade laundry detergent and household cleaners!

ReplyDeleteI make my own chicken, beef & turkey stock from left over bones. I make my own veggie stock from the skins and chopped off ends of veggies I use. I re-use all my glass jars for storage. I make my own chili sauce and hot sauce.

We turn off all power outlets at night and unplug all the unnecessary appliances. It saves us a LOT in the electric bill.

ReplyDeleteWe love the thrift shop. I have refused to purchase any new fabric this year for my quilting and will only use fabric I find at thrift shops! Not only frugal, but great recycling!

ReplyDeleteI think I was born frugal--it just comes natural to me. I garden and can, shop clearance, make food, cleaning supplies and some toiletries from scratch and make do with what we have.

i do a lot to be frugal! one thing i do is use the clothes line instead of the dryer.

I go to thrift stores, garage sales and estate sales. If buying almost anything, I look for sales. I've been known to reuse bread wrappers for sandwiches by cutting it in half and using a twisty tie to close the ends.
